Hi

Well, today has been a trying day. Jerry(DH) had to go back to the VA for an appt about the infection in his abdomen. The infection is at bay for now but the dr's say his liver, stomach, and colon have fallen into the hernia. Now he's been told by 5 different dr's that they DO NOT want to do surgery on him again, the last time he had surgery for hernia repair(July17, 2005) he had a heart attack and they had to wake him up. Mind you, they took 8 inches of his colon out then before the heart attack because it was all tangled in mesh and was being pinched off. The dr has a conference next month and took pics today to take to the conference with him to see if anyone(specialist) knows what they can do to fix it. The dr says that the hernia is going to rupture and that will be it for his life.....but surgery could also kill him.....so we're kinda between a rock and a hard place there. We won't know anything until January 7, 2010. His hernia is about as big as a large beach ball now. His stomach looks deformed because it is so much bigger on the right side than on the left.
