Homemade Sour Cream Recipe For Cooking

If you have a recipe calling for sour cream but get started making it only to find that you are out of sour cream, just take 1 can evaporated milk, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar(*this might could be omitted*) and 2 Tablespoons of white vinegar. *The reason I used the cream of tartar was my evaporated milk came out of the pantry and wasn't cold.  Put the vinegar and cream of tartar in the bowl, now add the evaporated milk, beat until the thickness you need it, I just beat mine to soft peaks(I added it to a casserole), Jerry said it was better than ever and he didn't know about the sour cream.
